Google Business Home and New Reports: What Builders Should Track

Google Business Home is a new beta for Business Profiles, and revamped reports are in test. See what builders should track.

Business performance dashboard for a Google Business Profile

Google has launched a new beta home for Business Profiles, called Google Business Home. It is also testing a revamped performance report. Search Engine Roundtable reported both on 22 and 23 October 2026.

So this guide explains what is new and what builders should track. First, a note. Both features are in beta or test, so you may not see them yet.

What Google Launched

  • Google Business Home is a new beta hub for Business Profiles.
  • Owners can create, publish and track content performance in one place.
  • Screenshots in the report show posts, reviews, performance reports, locations, settings, a brand kit and connected tools.
  • The beta stays closed, and covers only select business categories in the US and the UK.
  • Google built it with Gemini models and has rolled it out slowly for a couple of months.

Barry Schwartz received an email with access. So watch your inbox for an invitation. A single dashboard may save time if you manage posts, reviews and reports separately. However, closed betas often change, so avoid building a process around one.

What Is New in Performance Reports

  • Google is testing a revamped performance section with engagement, reviews, search trends and audience views.
  • The test also adds top recommendations and a more detailed reviews view.
  • Schwartz calls it a big improvement on the current report. However, he notes it partly overlaps with Business Home.

Again, this is a test. So treat it as a preview, not a promise. If you see the new report, compare its numbers with the old one, because small differences can appear when Google changes how it counts.

What to Do Now

  1. Check your email for a Business Home invitation, and look for new tabs in your profile.
  2. Do not rebuild your routine around a beta, because features can change.
  3. Track four numbers each month: calls, messages, direction requests and website clicks. A simple spreadsheet with one row per month is enough.
  4. Add a UTM tag to your profile’s website link, so analytics separates profile visits.
  5. Compare those numbers with real enquiries and jobs won.
  6. Use the reviews view to reply faster, if you get it.

Our guide to how fast to reply to enquiries shows a realistic standard.

Keep the Basics Strong

New tools matter less than steady habits. For example, a weekly post and quick review replies still do most of the work. Read our guides to Google Posts on local panels and construction reviews in 2026.

Also check suggested edits, because Google gives you only four days to respond. See our guide to Google Business Profile changes.

How We Can Help

We can check whether your profile has the new tools, set up a monthly tracking sheet and turn the numbers into plain-English reports. See our Google Business Profile management service.
